ABOUT BARBARA WILKIN YOGA
Yoga is a journey

Barbara's first encounter with yoga was as a teenager in her native Germany when she and her mum got inspired by a TV programme and has been practicing ever since.
Although, there were times in her life when Yoga took a back seat, she always came back to it because of the benefits Yoga brings to physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

In 2015 she completed her 200hrsYTT Teacher Training with "Siddhi Yoga" in India and has been teaching
Hatha Yoga classes ever since. As part of her professional development Barbara received
further teacher training in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga with the
inspiring Canadian Yoga teacher and educator Eva Hamilton.
Her own yoga practice over the past 30 years has been mainly Iyengar Yoga, which is reflected in her teaching.
For the past 5 years she has been attending weekly classes in "Pranayama", yogic practice of breath control.
She also has a regular meditation practice.
Ever since she first came into contact with Yoga she has been fascinated by the origin of Yoga, Yogis and Yoga philosophy and Buddhist philosophy. For many years she wanted to visit the birth place of Yoga. In recent years she has been fortunate to be able to spend many months in India and to attend retreats at the “Phool Chatti Ashram” in Rishikesh and the "Tushita Buddhist Meditation Centre" in Dharamkot and also at Thich Nath Hanh Plumvillage in France where she received the "5 Mindfulness Training". She also attended Yoga classes at "The Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre" in Dharamshala, "Mahi Yoga Centre" in Dharamshala and Goa.
