Service Description

In this 2.5 hour workshop Barbara will guide you through a 2 hour extended practice of Yin yoga postures followed by a 30 minutes talk where you learn about the history and benefits of this slower style of yoga. Yin yoga is a mainly floor based practice where postures are held for longer periods of time to work on the deeper tissues of the body - the connective tissues (Fascia), ligaments, joints and bones. It incorporates principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the sequences stimulate the meridians. Benefits of Yin yoga include greater flexibility, better circulation, reduction of tension in the body and mind. The slower meditative nature of Yin Yoga helps to alleviate stress as it allows you to slow down, relax and turn inwards.
